Who we are
UriCare Technologies Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates UriCare, a preventive health platform that pairs a home urine analysis device with a mobile and web app to deliver health insights.

Scope of this policy
This policy explains how UriCare collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects personal data across our mobile app, website, and connected devices.
It applies to data collected directly from individuals in India and internationally, and addresses Play’s Health apps policy and User Data policy.
What data we collect
Depending on features used and permissions granted:
Account and profile: name, gender, date of birth, contact details, address, country, and language.
Health and biomarker data: urine test results (biomarkers such as glucose, ketones, protein, pH, etc.), trends, and derived scores (e.g., Health Score).
Lifestyle inputs: diet, sleep, activity logs, medication reminders and adherence.
Medical history: diagnoses, allergies, prescriptions, lab results, doctor notes uploaded by the user.
Device and technical: device ID, OS, app version, crash logs, IP, approximate location (if enabled), cookies on web.
Tele-consultation media: chat logs and call metadata; recordings only if user consent is explicitly obtained and indicated.
Family management: family member data added with consent, relationship, sharing settings.
Payments and orders: ordered items, transaction identifiers, limited payment metadata; card/UPI details handled by payment gateways.
Sources of data
Directly from the user (inputs, uploads, consent forms).
Connected devices (urine analyzer, wearables) via secure protocols.
Health providers/labs the user connects to or authorizes (e.g., via FHIR/ABDM).
Lawful basis and consent (India – DPDP Act 2023)
Explicit consent: We obtain clear, informed consent before collecting or processing health data and sensitive personal data. Users may withdraw consent at any time in-app or via email.
Purpose limitation: Data is used only for the specific purposes stated at collection.
Data minimisation: We collect only what is necessary to deliver requested features.
User rights: Access, correction, portability, erasure (subject to medical/legal retention), and grievance redressal.
How we use data
Core features: syncing urine biomarkers, generating insights and reports, alerting on risks, and personalised care plans.
Tele-medicine: enabling clinician consultations and doctor-reviewed reports.
Family accounts: shared dashboards with consent and role-based controls.
Operations: account management, customer support, security, fraud prevention, and service quality.
Analytics: improving accuracy, performance, and user experience; where possible, we use aggregated or de‑identified data.
Compliance: fulfilling legal obligations, dispute resolution, and regulatory reporting.
Health permissions and sensitive data (Google Play)
We request only the minimum health, sensor, or fitness permissions required for user-facing features and disclose them prominently.
Our privacy disclosures explain what health data is collected, why, how it’s used/stored/shared, and retention/deletion.
Data sharing and third parties
We do not sell personal data. We may share data with:
Healthcare providers/MBBS doctors: to deliver tele-consultations and doctor-validated reports, with user consent.
Laboratories and pharmacies: to fulfil tests, home sample collection, and medicine orders, with consent.
Processors and infrastructure: cloud hosting, analytics, push notifications, payment gateways, SMS/email providers—bound by contracts and security obligations.
Insurers/employers (optional features): only with explicit opt-in consent and subject to strict safeguards and de-identification where applicable.
Legal and compliance: when required by law, regulation, or to protect rights, safety, and security.
International transfers and data localisation (India)
Health data of Indian users is stored in India or transferred in compliance with applicable law and adequate safeguards. We implement encryption, access controls, and DPDP-compliant contractual protections.
Data retention
We retain personal and health data only as long as needed for the purposes described or as required by law (e.g., medical records retention). We document retention schedules and delete or de‑identify data when no longer needed.
Security measures
Encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, strong access controls, least-privilege policies, monitoring, and regular security testing.
Vendor due diligence and confidentiality agreements for processors.
Incident response and breach notification within required timelines.
Children’s privacy
UriCare may be used for children only with verified parental/guardian consent and appropriate controls. Clinical use for minors follows applicable laws.
Your rights and choices
Access and correction: View and update profile and health data.
Consent withdrawal: Disable specific data sources or revoke consents in settings or by emailing us.
Portability: Request a machine-readable export where feasible.
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and data (subject to legal/medical retention).
Managing permissions
OS-level permissions (e.g., sensors, Bluetooth, camera) can be managed in device settings; some features may not function without required permissions.
Cookies and trackers (web)
We use essential cookies for security and operations, and analytics cookies (with consent, where required) to improve services. Browser settings and in-site controls can manage preferences.
Third-party links and SDKs
Third-party sites and SDKs have their own policies. Review them before use. We assess SDKs for data access and minimise collection.
